Beat your competition by making your office 30-40% more energy efficient while enhancing the value of your building
Imagine saving over a million dollars a year on your energy costs. Now, imagine saving over a million dollars a year … EVERY YEAR.
When Craig Sheehy began implementing energy efficient measures in 2001, he never realized the magnitude of operating expenses that would be saved at the Joe Serna Jr. California EPA building. When the financials came in, Craig thought something was wrong because the operating expense numbers were so low. After double checking the operating expenses, Sheehy finally concluded that the numbers were correct, the operating expenses were indeed plummeting.
During the first year, the operation invested about $500K in energy efficient upgrades and employee training. These investments realized a return of $610K in annual energy savings in less than a year.
Today, the Joe Serna Jr. is considered the greenest office building in the nation with an ENERGY STAR® rating of 99 (out of 100) and a platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council under its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Existing Building program. In addition, the Joe Serna Jr. building is realizing savings of over $1.07 a square foot, with 950,000-square-feet, …that is $1,016,500 of savings realized every year.
